Where in the World Is Croatian Spoken?

Croatian is a beautiful language spoken in a few very special places. Most people speak it in Croatia, of course but it’s also heard in nearby countries and even around the globe!

Croatian is the official language of Croatia. Kids in cities like Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik grow up speaking it every day. But did you know it’s also spoken in parts of:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Serbia (Vojvodina region)
  • Montenegro

In these countries, people may speak different dialects, but many words and sounds are shared.
