What Makes Iran’s Land So Unique?
Have you ever wondered where Persia is? Today, Persia is called Iran, and it is one of the biggest and most interesting countries in the Middle East.
Where Is Iran Located?
Iran is between three large seas:
- The Persian Gulf
- The Gulf of Oman
- The Caspian Sea
It shares borders with many countries like Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. That means it is connected to many different cultures and people.
What Does the Land Look Like?
Iran’s land is very different depending on where you go. Some places are mountainous, some are deserts, and others are green forests near the sea.
- The Zagros Mountains go from the northwest all the way down to the Persian Gulf. These are tall and rocky.
- The Alborz Mountains run along the Caspian Sea. This area has green hills and forests.
- In the center of Iran, you will find two large deserts where few people live. These areas are very dry and sandy.
- The plains near the sea are rich in soil and great for farming.
In some mountain areas, only nomads live. These are people who move from place to place with their animals.
