Learning the days of the week in Russian helps kids talk about their schedule, routines, and plans. Whether it’s school on Monday or playtime on Saturday, these easy words help organize the week in a whole new language!

The Days of the Week in Russian

Here’s the full list:

  • понедельник (ponedel’nik – Monday)
  • вторник (vtornik – Tuesday)
  • среда (sreda – Wednesday)
  • четверг (chetverg – Thursday)
  • пятница (pyatnitsa – Friday)
  • суббота (subbota – Saturday)
  • воскресенье (voskresenye – Sunday)

Each word ends with “-ник” or “-а/е” and follows a regular weekly rhythm that’s great for chanting, singing, or matching with activities.

How to Make It Stick

Use the Russian day names during routines:

  • “Сегодня среда!” (Today is Wednesday!)
  • “Завтра пятница!” (Tomorrow is Friday!)

You can also use a weekly calendar in Russian and add activities or events to each day.

On Dinolingo, kids ages 2–14 learn the days of the week through songs, games, and animated routines that make the words easy to remember and fun to repeat.

Creative Activities to Try
